Plymouth Postgraduate Medical Centre
The Plymouth Postgraduate Medical Centre (PGMC) supports all aspects of multidisciplinary medical education. The priority of the PGMC is medical education first and foremost.
PGMC is a limited company and registered charity initially funded by donations from various sources, including medical personnel and the British Antarctic Medical Unit. The ethos behind the development of the centre is to provide a facility that exists for all aspects of medical education and is available for use by all healthcare professionals. It hosts a number of regular training courses and educational meetings throughout the year such as weekly teaching for Foundation Trainees, Core Medical Trainee teaching sessions incorporating topics from the MRCP curriculum and a weekly General Medical Meeting Grand Round, which is open to all medical personnel. The centre is also host to numerous teaching, study days, seminars and courses for various specialties throughout the NHS.
